Dr.N.R.Krishnaswamy received his Bachelors in Dental Surgery in 1984 from Madras University. He obtained his Masters Degree in Orthodontics from KMC, Manipal in 1986.

 

He opened his private practice in Chennai in 1984. He earned his fellowship in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in 2000. He is a Diplomate of the Indian Board of Orthodontics and National Board of Medical Sciences. He was awarded the scientific exchange scholarship of the Japan Dental Association which led to clinical training at Tsurumi University, Yokohama, Japan.

 

As a clinician and a teacher he has won several accolades to name a few: He has won the Best Paper award and the President’s Rolling trophy for the Best Clinical Paper presented at the National Conference on 3 occasions. He has won the Best Research paper award of the Indian Orthodontic Society twice. He has been a headline speaker at the National Orthodontic and Post Graduate conference for the past 2 decades.

 

Dr.Krishnaswamy has also been invited to deliver guest lectures at several International Forums including Keynote addresses at the National Conference of Srilankan Orthodontic society, Malaysian Association of Orthodontics, Taiwan Association of Orthodontics, Japan Orthodontic Society, The World Federation of Orthodontic Conference, Australia. Dr. NRK has been one of the very few Indian orthodontists who has been invited to deliver lectures at the American association of orthodontists.

 

As an active Academician he has more than 30 publications in refereed Journals and has authored chapters in textbooks. For his outstanding contribution as a teacher he was conferred the Best Teacher award by the Tamil Nadu Medical University in 2011. He is the recipient of the B.F and Helen E. Dewel Award for the Best Clinical article published in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics in the year 2013. He has served as the President of the Indian Orthodontics Society and Chairman of the Indian Board of Orthodontics.
